Join us on Thursday, June 24 from 9:30am – 11 am to hear from organizations about how they can support employees with mental health issues, including anxiety and depression. The participants on our panel will share best techniques and tips for overcoming executive function challenges, providing supported employment, using job coaches, and maintaining continuous engagement. The employers on our panel will share best practices for enhancing coping skills, building confidence, and encouraging self-advocacy. Our panelists will discuss available resources, benefits to businesses, building partnerships, and answer questions from the audience.

Kristen Hamilton, M.S., CRC, LRIC, earned her Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at VCU. She has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at the VCU-RRTC since 2014. Kristen utilizes a collaborative strengths based approach to support clients in obtaining and retaining meaningful employment. She has experience working with individuals across disabilities including those with co-occuring mental health challenges. Kristen has a passion for empowering those that she serves to accomplish their goals in life by implementing coping skills and building resilience.

Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Mark Yacano has guided a wide range of law departments on both legal and business strategy. As a law firm leader, a practitioner and a strategic advisor, he has worked with clients to reduce their legal exposure, control their expenses and streamline their operations. As a Managing Director on our Transform Advisory Services team, Mark frequently advises companies on the adoption of a wide range of technologies including contract management, eBilling, matter management and eDiscovery platforms. In addition to technology selection, he guides clients through the development of workflow and best practices that accompany the adoption of technology. Mark lives in Richmond, Virginia, with Terri, his wife of more than 30 years. They have two adult children: Ben and Mollie. A passionate advocate for mental health and well-being, Mark is the host of our podcast, Erasing the Stigma: Conversations in Mental Health. He splits his time between Richmond, Washington DC and New York City.
